In Burundi in 1994 an Italian technician was hospitalized for a serious car accident. The country was also rocked by a coup d’etat with the closure of airports and looting in villages, and both the population and the hospital were under siege.
There was a need to transfer the patient to another facility for more appropriate care: here the Flying Doctors (Amref) came into play who promptly intervened with a crash landing and managed to transfer the injured person to Nairobi, in order to guarantee him care he needed.
T.E. Srl in dealing with emergency situations in the plants has as reference the spirit of the Flying Doctors for this reason it has begun to call its technicians with the name of
“Flying Engineers“, (agreements with Amref * Rome 30/01/1998) to their timeliness, professionalism and enthusiasm even if the interventions of TE Srl only concern energy plants.
